Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Welcome to LayerOn ("we", "us", "our", or the "Company"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("LayerOn" or the "App") and our website at https://layeronai.com (together, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us, information that is automatically collected when you use the Services, and information from third-party sources. The categories include:

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account & Profile Information: When you register for an account, we collect your email address, username, display name, and profile picture. If you sign in using Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account.
  • User-Generated Content: Photos and images you upload for virtual try-on processing, community posts and outfit images you share, comments and likes you leave on community posts, and direct messages sent to other users.
  • Payment & Transaction Data: When you purchase credits or subscriptions, the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We receive a purchase confirmation and product identifier but do not collect or store your credit card number, bank details, or full payment credentials. We log transaction amounts, status, and product IDs for account and support purposes.
  • Support & Communications: If you contact us via email or contact forms, we collect the content of your messages, contact details, and any attachments you provide.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, language settings, browser type, and crash/diagnostic logs.
  • Usage Data: Features accessed, garments browsed, try-on requests submitted, pages visited, timestamps, referral URLs, and interaction patterns within the App and Website.
  • Push Notification Tokens: We collect Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device tokens to deliver push notifications such as try-on completion alerts, likes, comments, and messages. These tokens are stored alongside your user ID and are deleted when you sign out or delete your account.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, and local storage on our website to ensure site functionality, analyze traffic, remember user preferences, and serve contextually relevant advertisements.

1.3 Information from Third-Party Services

  • Google Sign-In: If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account name, email address, and profile picture. We do not access your Google contacts, calendar, or any other Google services.
  • Google AdSense & AdMob: We display advertisements through Google AdSense on the website and rewarded video ads through Google AdMob in the mobile app. These third parties may collect device identifiers, cookies, and usage data to serve personalized and non-personalized ads.

2. Cookies, Web Beacons & Advertising Policies

We work with third-party advertising vendors, including Google, to serve ads when you visit our website.

  • DoubleClick DART Cookie: Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and other sites on the Internet.
  • Opting Out of DART Cookies: Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google Ad and Content Network Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
  • Managing Ad Personalization: You can manage your Google Ad Settings at https://adssettings.google.com or opt out of participating third-party ad networks via the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) opt-out page at https://optout.networkadvertising.org and the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) at https://aboutads.info/choices.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Provide & Operate the Services: To create and manage your account, process virtual try-on requests using AI models, display community feed content, and deliver purchased credits and subscription features.
  • Authentication & Security: To verify your identity, prevent unauthorized access, and protect against fraud and abuse.
  • Notifications: To send push notifications about try-on results, social interactions (likes, comments, messages), and important account updates.
  • Payments & Billing: To process subscriptions, credit purchases, and ad reward credits; to maintain transaction history for customer support purposes.
  • Improvement & Analytics: To understand how users interact with our Services, identify bugs, improve features, and optimize the user experience.
  • Advertising: To serve advertisements via Google AdSense and Google AdMob.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.

4. AI Image Processing & Photo Safety

Our core service uses artificial intelligence to generate virtual try-on images. When you submit a try-on request:

  • Your selected model image and garment images are uploaded securely via HTTPS to our backend servers for AI processing.
  • Generated try-on result images are stored in your account so you can view, share, or delete them.
  • We do not use your uploaded photos to train public generative AI models without your explicit consent.
  • AI processing is automated; no human reviews your private images during the try-on generation process.

5. Data Storage & Security

We take data security seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

  • All data is transmitted over encrypted connections using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols.
  • User authentication is managed by Supabase with industry-standard protocols (including JWT tokens and row-level security policies).
  • Passwords are never stored in plain text; authentication is handled via Supabase Auth with hashed credentials or OAuth tokens (Google Sign-In).
  • Image uploads are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls tied to authenticated users.
  • Database access is governed by row-level security (RLS) policies that ensure users can only access their own data.

6. GDPR (European Economic Area Users)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

  • The right to access, update, or delete the information we have on you.
  • The right of rectification if your information is inaccurate.
  • The right to object to our processing of your personal data.
  • The right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal information.
  • The right to data portability.
